About This Course

What This Course Covers

BLS is the national standard for resuscitation training in Canada. It's built for healthcare professionals and trained responders who work in pre-hospital or in-facility settings.

The course focuses on practical skills, clinical judgment, and team coordination. You'll leave ready to respond confidently in a real emergency — whether you're the first responder or part of a resuscitation team.

All content follows the latest Heart & Stroke Canada guidelines and emphasizes hands-on practice over theory. Training is delivered on-site or off-site — exclusively for your group.

Blended Format

How Blended BLS Works

The blended option splits BLS into two phases — online and in-person — so your team spends less time away from patient care without skipping any of the hands-on practice that makes BLS effective.

Participants complete the cognitive portion online at their own pace before the in-person session. When we arrive on-site, every minute is dedicated to CPR skills, AED practice, bag-mask technique, and team scenarios.

Ask About Blended BLS

Phase 1 — Online

Provider: ~2–3 hrs · Renewal: ~1.5–2 hrs. Self-paced modules covering CPR science, AED use, and BLS algorithms — complete before the in-person day.

Phase 2 — In-Person

Provider: ~2 hrs · Renewal: ~1.5 hrs. 100% hands-on — CPR skills, bag-mask, AED, and team scenarios with real feedback devices.

Less Time On-Site

Blended cuts in-person time significantly — ideal for busy clinical teams who can't spare a half-day away from their unit.

Same Certification

Full Heart & Stroke Canada BLS certification — valid 1 year. No difference in credential from the traditional in-class format.

Both formats lead to the same Heart & Stroke Canada certification.
